NPGA Comments Against CDL Testing, Learning Permit Rules

Earlier this month, the National Propane Gas Association
(NPGA) noted that it has filed comments with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety
Administration (FMCSA) on two rules related to obtaining commercial driver’s
licenses (CDL). One rule would specify minimum classroom and behind-the-wheel
training for those upgrading their CDL, and the other would require a
commercial learner's permit (CLP) before getting a CDL.

Cap and Trade Coming in the Near Future, Says Congressman

Despite the failure of the Senate to pass the Lieberman/Warner climate change bill
in early June, the near future is almost certainly going to see some form of climate
change legislation pass Congress. The impact on the propane industry is just as
likely to be negative, but if the industry continues to raise the issue to federal
officials, the impact may be mitigated to some extent.
