Soon after achieving the Fastest Recorded Alternative Fuel Conversion to propane autogas at the 2016 Work Truck Show in Indianapolis (converted in one hour thirty-two minutes) the Alliance AutoGas crew hits the road on a 5500 mile, 12-city cross-country trip in the 2016 Bi-Fuel 3.5 Liter Ford F-150 V6.

The “Alliance AutoGas Coast-to-Coast Clean Air Ride” kicks off in Kansas City May 2, 2016 in the new F-150 Engineered Conversion System that is “traveling the talk” to underscore the importance and impact of reducing CO2 emissions through the use of propane autogas, according to Alliance AutoGas. The goal is to demonstrate real-time results of a clean-burning, domestically produced, cost-effective fuel option for fleets. Reducing CO2 also helps improve air quality and reduces the black carbon particulate matter that has a negative impact on human lungs. The American Lung Society also is in partnership with the initiative along with the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC).

“We want people to see first-hand, how simple and easy it is to convert a vehicle, how well it runs, and a how it gives the fleet manager a well-documented return,” notes Ed Hoffman, President of Blossman Services, Inc. The F-150 will be hauling a Exmark Lazer Z Ultra Cut 60 propane mower that’s powered by a 25.5 horsepower Kawasaki FX801 V-Twin gasoline engine, converted to propane by Alliance Small Engines.

The Alliance AutoGas’ Engineered Fuel System features a single plug wiring connector featured a 21-gallon underbody autogas tank. All wiring is a “plug and play” no cut install. Everything is bracketed and designed to be installed without any drilling or fabrication. By deploying these features, labor times and conversion costs are significantly reduced.

The “Alliance AutoGas Coast-to-Coast Clean Air Ride” will travel to Seattle, WA, and complete its journey in Jacksonville, FL on May 18. An additional “homecoming” event is scheduled on May 23 in Asheville, NC, the home to Alliance Autogas’ headquarters. Several Clean Cities Coalitions are planning events and activities during the refueling stops of the trip.

Stuart Weidie, President and CEO of Blossman Gas and President of Alliance AutoGas adds, “The cross country trip in Alliance Autogas’ Ford F-150 will be a great opportunity to demonstrate why Propane Autogas is the world’s #1 alternative fuel. We hope to educate citizens across the country about the extended range of autogas vehicles, as well as the benefits of real cost savings and emissions reductions.”
